PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic head having good floating characteristics of the magnetic head without damaging the magnetic head and magnetic disks. SOLUTION: The center 13 of rotation of the slider which has a rail part 8 to be mounted with a magnetic core 1 for high recording density and a slider block 2 integrally formed with the rail part 8 and is constituted by forming a rail part 9 having a magnetic core 5 and coil 11 for standard recording density on the flank of the slider block 2 facing the rail part to be mounted with the magnetic core 1 for high recording density is arranged with the coil 11 of the magnetic core for standard recording density in such a manner that this coil exists in a position nearly rotationally symmetric with the coil 11 of the magnetic core 1 for high recording density. A working gap 6 of the magnetic core 5 and coil 11 for standard recording density are positioned on the inflow end side A of the slider described above.
