PURPOSE: An over current control apparatus for motor is provided to achieve an improved motor operating reliability by delaying operation of the over current detection unit even when the over current is generated by the friction force of the initial start of the motor. CONSTITUTION: An over current control apparatus comprises a control unit(100) for outputting phase excitation signals(A+,A-,B+,B-,C+,C-) for rotating a rotor of a motor in accordance with the position of the rotor detected by a rotor position detection unit; a motor driving unit(150) for driving the motor in accordance with the signal output from the control unit; an over current detection unit(210) for outputting a signal for stopping operation of the motor driving unit in accordance with whether the over current is output or not; a delay unit(220) for taking as an input the phase excitation signals(A+,B+,C+) which do not include pulse width modulation signal, from among the phase excitation signals output from the control unit, and outputting a signal after delay of a preset time; and an AND gate for applying the signal obtained by AND logic operation to the signal output from the over current detection unit and the signal output from the delay unit, to the motor driving unit.
