PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a camera and a camera system where such a failure is prevented that an elevating mirror in a camera body or a lens itself is broken in the case of attaching an interchangeable lens which interferes with the elevating mirror. SOLUTION: When the remaining power of the power supply battery of the camera becomes equal to or below a set value (S41, YES), the power supply source is switched from the power supply battery to a stand-by power unit (S42), and in the case the elevating mirror for an optical finder does not stand in a retreat position (S43, NO), the elevating mirror is shifted to the retreat position (S44).
