PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a total heat exchanger and a ventilating system which are capable of removing smell and reducing heat loss due to ventilation. SOLUTION: A pleats type element main body 8, in which a crest part and a trough part are arranged alternately and first air passages 10 are formed at one side thereof while second air passages 11 are formed on the other side, is provided. Photocatalyst layers, decomposing the constituent of smell, are provided on the surfaces of the element main body 8.
