PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric protection bearing device and its manufacturing method surely implementing the electric protection of a rotor shaft supported to an underwater bearing of a rubber bearing type submerged in seawater such as a ship propeller shaft composed of copper alloy and preventing the generation of corrosive abrasion of the rotor shaft by the seawater. SOLUTION: This electric protection bearing is so formed that the rubber bearing composed of a rubber based material is stuck to the internal circumference of a shell metal and a clearance capable of passing conductive water is formed between the internal circumference of the rubber bearing and the outer circumference of the rotor shaft. In this bearing and its manufacturing method, a counter electrode connected to an external power supply is installed in a channel of the rubber bearing opposed to the clearance in such a state as opposed to the outer circumference face of the rotor shaft, the conductive water in the clearance is passed from the counter electrode to the rotor shaft so as to energize it, and the rubber bearing is so formed that the rubber bearing material is vulcanized and stuck to the inside circumference of the shell metal.
