PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color cathode ray tube capable of preventing deformation and displacement when fixing a mask body to a mask frame. SOLUTION: The skirt part 23 of a mask body 30 has cutout parts NS and NL. The width of the cutout parts NS and NL along the short axis or long axis is not less than 0.10×L and not more than 0.45×L, when L is designated as a distance from the end of the short axis or the end of the long axis to their diagonal ends, and the height of the cutouts NS and NL along an tube axis is equal to 50-40% of the height of the skirt part 23 along the tube axis in the vicinity of the end of the short axis or the end part of the long axis when it is designated as 100%.
