PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an automatic focusing device capable of sufficiently achieving follow-up performance to a moving object. SOLUTION: This automatic focusing device is provided with a defocus amount detection means detecting an out-of-focus amount being a difference between the image forming position of the photographing lens and the image surface position of the photographing lens, an exposure start feasible time decision means deciding time required until it gets possible to start exposure, a predicting means predicting the image surface position at the exposure start feasible time, a lens driving means driving the photographing lens to the image surface position predicted by the predicting means, and control means (#109, #110, #114 and #115) controlling so that the image surface position is predicted and the lens is driven to the image surface position again when the exposure start feasible time is changed after driving the lens. |
