PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus where a bright image can be obtained over a long period of time without the need for a new component by eliminating troubles such as attachment of a foreign object or shaving. SOLUTION: In the apparatus, a boss part 19 for an arm fulcrum is constituted outside a storing chamber for a cleaning process means and at the tip part of the part 19, a recessed part 21 is formed, and a protruding part 20 that is formed on an arm component 6 is inserted to the boss part 19 together with an arm supporting pin 16. Then, the recessed part 21 is rotationally abutted on a surface X of the protruding part 20 by mounting a spring 15 on the arm 16, and thus a cleaning roll 1 is restricted and maintained at a specified nip.
