PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple-structure connecting device for a vehicle roof capable of locking and unlocking two components without changing the moving direction. SOLUTION: This connector connects a slider 2 slidably supported to a guide rail 4 to a drive member 14 installed movably along the guide rail. This connector is so constituted that, when the driving member 14 reaches the slider 2 locked at a first lock position 10 of the guide rail 4, it connects and engages with the slider 2 and unlocks the slider 2 from the locked and engaged state with the guide rail 4; when the driving member 14 and the slider 2 move further relative to the guide rail 4, the slider 2 is locked to a second lock position 11 of the guide rail 4; and, when the driving member 14 moves further, it is released from the slider 2.
