<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an add-drop multiplexer which has simple structure and high extendability and latitude. SOLUTION: The add-drop multiplexer is equipped with a directional coupler 2 and an optical reflector FG consisting of an optical fiber grating or the like that transmits a specific wavelength componentλi and that reflects the remaining wavelength componentsλ1-λi-1,λi+1-λn. When signal light containing wavelength componentsλ1-λn is made incident on a port Pin, it is propagated from the port Pin to the optical reflector FG through a port Pa. Then, the wavelength componentsλ1-λi-1,λi+1-λn are reflected by the optical reflector FG and outputted to a port Pout. Further, the wavelength componentλi is passed through by the optical reflector FG and dropped in a port Pb. Meantime, the wavelength componentλI, which is the same wavelength asλi, is added to the port Pb; then, it is passed through the optical reflector FG, propagated to the port Pout through the port Pa, and thereby emitted in the form of the signal light containingλI in the wavelength componentsλ1-λi-1,λi+1-λn.</p> |
