PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a color image recorder having a transfer body capable of stably forming an image without causing irregularities in a toner image on a transfer belt in the case of transferring the toner image from a photoreceptor to the transfer belt. SOLUTION: Voltage having the same polarity as color toner is applied to a 3rd transfer roller 34 for transferring the toner image on the intermediate transfer belt 3 to recording paper 39 by making the paper 39 abut on the belt 3 at the time of forming the image, and voltage having a reverse polarity to the color toner is applied to the roller 34 at the time of transferring the image to the paper 39. Thus, the color image recorder capable of stably forming the image by preventing the irregularities in the toner image on the belt 3 from occurring because the color toner on the belt 3 adheres to the roller 34 at the time of forming the image, is provided.
