The inventive method for producing an article having a single-crystal structure by means of the directional crystallisation consists in the following: a casting mould (3) is arranged inside a preheating chamber (8). Said mould is heated and moved to a metallising chamber (9). Afterwards, the casting mould (3) which is provided with metallized surface layers is moved to a heating chamber (4), heated therein when a longitudinal axis thereof is in a horizontal position and filled with melt. The casting mould (3) with the melt is moved to a cooling chamber (5) and is cooled until the directional or the single-crystal structure is formed in the cast. The mould (3) is exposed to the effect of two streams of powder coolants mixed with an inert gas in the metallising chamber (9) and in the cooling chamber (5). The inventive device for carrying out said method comprises the chamber (8), (9), (4) and (5) which are series connected to each other and used for preheating, metallising, heating, filling and cooling the moulds. Each chamber (8,9,4,5) is provided with mechanisms for transporting the casting moulds in horizontal direction and with mechanisms for heating the moulds, melting and filling the mould when the longitudinal axis thereof is in a horizontal position and for metallising and cooling the moulds.
