摘要 The device has sensing elements for measurement scales, a unit for forming a position measurement value as a code word from signals of several sensing elements and an output unit for digital output of the code word on a data channel. A converter converts mutually phase shifted analog sensing signals from sensing elements of at least one scale into a multi-position amplitude-proportional code word that is applied to the output unit. The device has sensing elements (6-10) associated with at least one relatively movable measurement scale (2-4), a unit (11) for forming a position measurement value in the form of a code word from sensing signals of several sensing elements and an output unit (14) for digital output of the code word on a data channel (12). A converter (17,18) converts several mutually phase shifted analog sensing signals from several sensing elements of at least one scale into a multi-position amplitude-proportional code word that is applied to the output unit for output on the data channel. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of operating a position measurement device.
