Device has processor (10) for generation of information about processing of the individual notes and a monitor (20) with a memory (21) for recording information about note processing. The processing device has means (11) for determining the identity of individual notes (12), while the memory is able to record the individual identity of notes in conjunction with their method of processing. An Independent claim is made for a method of processing banknotes enabling their individual identities and associated method of processing to be recorded.
