<p>The centrifugal pump includes a disc or foil-shaped area (4) made of several layers of plastic. This area is fixed to one side of the rotor, at right angles to the rotor axis, and can not be twisted around the axis. It partially surrounds the rotor, and it may be U-, V- or horseshoe-shaped, or be part of a ring shape. At least one of the plastic layers incorporates a printed circuit board, with a flat coil or spiral (11) which acts as a sensor to measure the rotational speed of the pump. A temperature sensor (12) is also fitted to the plastic area, and signals from both temp. and rotation sensors are processed by an electronic module fitted onto the pump.</p> |
