<p>An optical fiber array (10), comprising a V-grooved substrate (16) having a V-groove part (7) with V-grooves (12) for disposing optical fiber bare parts (11) therein, a flat part (3) for disposing optical fiber covered parts (13) thereon, and a step part (1) for connecting the V-groove part (7) to the flat part (3), wherein, with the flat part (3) used as a reference plane (A), a height (H1) from the reference plane (A) to the center of the optical fiber covered parts (13) disposed on the flat part (3) is higher than a height (H2) from the reference plane (A) to the center of the optical fiber bare parts (11) disposed in the V-grooves (12), whereby a stress concentration to optical fibers can be prevented, the problems such as deterioration of characteristics become hard to occur, and a reliability can be increased.</p> |
