The method for connecting pipes (1, 2, 11) with a wall thickness below 1 mm comprises forming a radial peripheral flange (4) at a distance (A) from the end (3) of a first pipe with cylindrical sections (5, 6) on either side. Flanges (8, 13) are formed on the ends of two other pipes (2, 11) and these are fitted against the flange on the first. The pipes are then fusion welded together. An Independent claim is included for a connection between pipes as described above.
