The car seat mounting consists of two parts (11, 12) which allow the back rest to recline. A pawl (17) pivoted on the first part (11) cooperates with teeth (22) on the second part to lock the two components in place. An eccentric (25) holds the pawl in the locked position. In the event of a crash it pivots downwards against a locking component (37) so that the pawl is locked against the teeth.
