A first recording layer and a second recording layer of a plurality of recording layers each have a recording film and a reflection control film comprising silver oxide, and the reflection control film is sandwiched by dielectric films. The reflection control film utilizes heat upon heat radiation from the recording film by photoirradiation and forms a high-reflection region in a part where the temperature becomes over a critical point for the formation of the high-reflection region by this heat. Thus, optical loss in the region other than a recording layer to be accessed decreases and results in an improvement in the optical efficiency.
