Explosive-actuated riveting gun comprises a housing (1) containing a breech block (6), an axially displaceable bolt guide, and an igniter (10) axially displaceable in the breech block and having a spring unit (11). The bearing (20) of the spring unit on the igniter is held by a sleeve-like region of the igniter. The axial displacement of the bearing in the riveting direction is limited by a buffer unit (8) protruding into the sleeve-like region of the igniter and whose stop surface (21) is arranged against the riveting direction. Preferred Features: The buffer unit is constructed from cylindrical bodies and acts symmetrically on the bearing of the spring unit.
