A two-stage ignition type air bag start device having a first stage inflator and a second stage inflator, comprising power supply means (11) feeding power to the ignitors of the inflators, a mechanical acceleration switch (12) disposed between a common connection portion for the ignitors (4), (5), (7), and (8) and the power supply means (11), and forced ignition means (15) disposed in parallel with the mechanical acceleration switch (12) and electrically connecting or disconnecting the common connection portion to or from the power supply means (11).
