Adaptive computation is performed by computing a minimum Ladf to determine a mean squared error ("MSE") of the output signals y1(n) and y2(n) lower than a predetermined threshold. The number of coefficients of the ADF is reduced, and the step of performing adaptive computation is repeated until the number of coefficients is a number m at which the MSE does not decrease. Finally, the step of performing adaptive computation is repeated, with the number of coefficients of m+1 or larger.
