The invention relates to an aqueous polysaccharide suspension containing at least water, at least 2 wt % of a non ionic polysaccharide and more than 4 wt % of a salt of an at least tetravalent organic acid, or a mixture composed of two or more thereof, or at least one quaternary ammonium compound with at least one organic radical with at least 4 C-atoms or a mixture composed of two or more thereof, or at least one compound comprising at least one acid and one basic group or a mixture of two or more of the above-mentioned compounds. The invention also relates to a method for producing said polysaccharide suspensions and to the use thereof.
