<p>Microstructured surface layers with a contact angle (to water or hexadecane) at least 5[deg] greater than that of the smooth surface are produced on substrates by using compositions (I) containing condensates of hydrolyzable compounds of Main Group III-V or Sub-Group II-IV elements, part of which also contain non-hydrolyzable aliphatic fluorocarbon groups. An independent claim is also included for the use of composition (I) for the production of microstructured surface layers on substrates, especially metal, plastics, optionally modified natural materials, glass, ceramics, glass-ceramics, concrete, clay, leather, paper and/or textiles, the surface being microstructured in such a way that the contact angle with water or hexadecane is at least 5 (preferably at least 10) degrees greater than that of a corresponding smooth surface. (I) contains condensates of hydrolyzable compound(s) of element(s) (M) of Main Groups III-V or Sub-Groups II-IV, at least part of these compounds containing, in addition to hydrolyzable groups (A), non-hydrolyzable carbon-containing groups (B), where 0.1-100 mol % of (B) comprise groups (B') with one or more fluorine atoms attached to aliphatic carbon atom(s).</p> |
