The activation method has the mobile telephone (MS) to be activated called from a base station, e.g. a virtual base station (VBTS), using the subscriber identification, with interrogation of identification parameters, for termination of the set-up signal and replacement by a channel-release signal for establishing the required connection with the mobile telephone.
