The invention relates to a closure element for closing a receptacle or container having a circular opening. The inventive closure element has the shape of a sphere, of a spherical segment, of a spherical section or of a spherical layer and is capable of closing the circular opening on the surface of the sphere or on the spherical surface in a manner that permits the opening to be freed once again.
