PURPOSE: A recording device for automatically deciding a high/low coercivity card is provided to identify and record a high and low corecivity card with a single recorder. CONSTITUTION: The device comprises a CPU(1), an F2F(Frequency to Frequency) decoder IC(3) decoding the card information read by a magnetic head(6) and transmitting the decoded information to the CPU, an F2F encoder IC(2) encoding the write data received from the CPU in order to write to a card, a write module(4) being constructed by a transistor and supplying the write current fit to the polarity of write data received from the F2F encoder IC, a selection module(5) being capable of selecting an automatic write mode and a high or low coercivity mode of manual write mode, and supplying the write current by deciding the high or low coercivity card by the high/low coercivity selection signal received from the CPU and the write data received from the write module, and a magnetic head reading the information recorded in the card and writing the information transferred through the write and selection module.
