A method whereby a pharmacological effect of a drug administered to a living body having an overgrowing tissue or cells (malignant tumor, etc.) can be visualized at an early stage so that screening of a candidate compound for a new drug or an adequate method of using a remedy can be established within a short time. A method whereby an overgrowing tissue or cells in a living body can be distinguished from tissues or cells under normal growth and quantified by obtaining a two-dimensional image with the use of [2-<14>C]thymidine and/or [1,3-N]fluorescent thymidine as an indication. Based on this method, a candidate for a new drug is screened, a method of adequately using a remedy is established, the optimum dosage or the lethal effect of a strong energy particle ray is judged, and the organ-specific drug effect of a drug is estimated.
