The present invention relates to pluripotent (potentially totipotent) stem cells obtained from non-embryonic gonadal cells, such as testicular or ovarian cells. The invention also relates to a method of producing such pluripotent (potentially totipotent) stem cells from gonadal tissue, as well as uses of such cells.
