A cleaning device (1) with a spray unit for liquid and/or steam, including an instantaneous water heater (8) that can be heated up and used to heat or vaporize the liquid that is to be sprayed. In order to achieve optimum transmission of the heat supply to the through-flowing liquid, the instantaneous water heater has a pot-shaped housing (12) with heating elements (16) embedded in the outer wall (14) thereof and the interior (15) of said housing is divided up into two chambers by means of a separating wall (17), whereby both chambers connect with each other at the end of the housing, and a supply (7) of liquid flows into one of the chambers on the opposite end to said connection and the medium (9) flows out of the other chamber.
