PURPOSE: An apparatus for sterilizing and washing fruits and vegetables using ozone is provided, thereby completely sterilizing the fruits and vegetables and effectively removing the remaining agricultural chemicals from the surface of the fruits and vegetables. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for sterilizing and washing fruits and vegetables using ozone comprises a precipitation and separation tank(1) consisting of first, second and third precipitation and separation chambers(1-1, 1-2, 1-3) with a suspension separating plate(1a), a partition wall(1c) and a plurality of precipitate separating plates(1d) and nets(1b); an ozone storage tank(5); an ozone supplying pipe(2-1) having a pump and a controller(5-1) wherein the controller(5-1) is connected with an oxygen generator(3) equipped with a filter(3-2), and an ozone supplying pipe(4-1) connected with an ozone generator(4) equipped with an ozone monitor(4-1), an ozone detector(4-2), and a controlling plate(4-3); an ozone water-discharging pipe(5-5) connected with the ozone storage tank(6); and a contaminant discharging pipe(5-4) with a valve(5-2) in its upper part.
