The console (1) which slides on a rail (13) comprises a translation locking saddle (16) operated by a locking control (6,6'). The console can be controlled between a locked position where its extraction is impossible and an unlocked position in which translation is possible. The console is secured to the rail by the pivoting attachment saddle which is maneuvered by an attachment handle between a locked position, in which the console is attached to the rail but not locked in translation, and an unlocked position where it is freed from the rail and can be extracted.
