PURPOSE: A method for displaying characters in a number-dedicated pager is provided to easily display numbers and characters inputted through the operations of numeric buttons and function buttons in a sender's telephone. CONSTITUTION: A sender accesses a number-dedicated pager and transmits data, composed of numbers and/or function symbols, to the pager(S10). The pager decodes the transmitted data through the decoder and outputs the paging data(S20). The pager detects function symbol data from th paging data(S30). In case that any function symbol data is not detected, the pager outputs the paging data on the display widow(S40). However, if more than two function symbol data exist, the pager converts numeric data between the function symbol data into characters and displays them on the display window(S50).
