PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing a brake rotor is provided to reduce the weight of a brake rotor by only reinforcing a portion of a rotor mounting part and to obtain a brake rotor of excellent heat resistance and quality. CONSTITUTION: A disk-shaped pre-form is made by using the alumina powder of 30-70 micrometer of diameter. An aluminum alloy is compounded by using no-pressure infiltration. A brake rotor is processed by aluminum solution treatment and age-hardened. The aluminum alloy is constituted of 8-12wt% of silicone, 3-5wt% of magnesium, 1-1.5wt% of nickel, and aluminum.
