PURPOSE: An excavating/timbering method by small face partial advance blasting of an underground space and a tunnel is provided to minimize the relaxation influence of the original ground and to install timbering completely within the shortest time. CONSTITUTION: The excavating/timbering method by small face partial advance blasting of an underground space and a tunnel comprises the steps of perforating and blasting a small face advance part(1), mucking and observing a face, penetrating and blasting a pillar(2), mucking, placing shotcrete primarily, installing a primary wire mesh, a rock bolt and a steel rib in order, placing shotcrete secondarily, installing a secondary wire mesh and placing shotcrete thirdly.
