APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR SHARING GEOGRAPHIC DATA BETWEEN DISTRIBUTED-HETEROGENEOUS SYSTEMS

PURPOSE: An apparatus and method for sharing the geographic data between the distributed-heterogeneous systems are provided to secure the facility of the data maintenance and to prevent the redundant construction of the spatial data by constructing the spatial data usable in every GIS(geographic information system) engine or spatial DBMS. CONSTITUTION: A client(100) requests the meta-data search and the catalog service, like viewing, operating, and analyzing the spatial data, by using an application program. A distribution server(200) modifies, deletes, and adds the meta-data, and accesses the spatial data after searching the meta-data that a user needs. A distributed data storage(300) performs mapping two kinds of protocols into a standard interface defined by the Open GIS when the client is different from the distribution server in system. A meta-data storage(400) stores the searched meta-data.
