PURPOSE: An internet data transmission method and system is provided to make a terminal, installed at a relay station, convert internet data, such as videos, sounds, or texts in video signals for broadcasting, and relay the converted video signals over the CATV(Cable Television) network so that it can transmit the internet data to a plurality of viewers with a server and a backbone network of a relatively smaller capacity. CONSTITUTION: The method comprises steps of an encoding server converting digital videos, sounds or texts into data in a streaming format(31), the encoding server transmitting the data in a streaming format and scheduler data for controlling the data in a streaming format to the relay station via a host server over the internet(32), the relay station making a real time regeneration of the transmitted data in a streaming format according to an analysis of the scheduler data or storing the transmitted data(33), the relay station converting the data, regenerated in an AV generator, into video signals for broadcasting(34), the relay station transmitting the converted AV stream data to televisions over the CATV network(35).
