PURPOSE: A sealing pad for connecting underground pipes and a method for connecting underground pipes by using the same are provided to reduce the constructing cost and to rapidly and simply carry out the connection work for the underground pipes by connecting underground pipes to each other while maintaining a water-proof state. CONSTITUTION: A sealing pad having a sleeve shape is coupled around a connection part(11) of an underground pipe(1). The sealing pad is made of elastic material and formed at an outer portion thereof with grooves and protrusions. The sealing pad having a predetermined length is arranged around connecting parts(11) formed at both ends of the underground pipes(1) which are connected to each other. The connecting parts(11) of the underground pipes(1) are inserted into inserting portions(31) of a connecting socket(3). The connecting parts(11) of the underground pipes(1) are positioned opposite to each other about a stopper installed in the socket(3).
