PURPOSE: A disk balancing device and a method thereof are provided to trace an eccentric mass and an eccentric position of a disk assembly mounted on a spindle motor, to easily remove the eccentric mass through laser cutting, so that disk balancing is easily performed without the disassembly or reassembly of the disk assembly. CONSTITUTION: A disk assembly(10) has a disk installed to be rotative by a driving source. A displacement measuring unit(20) measures vibration generated when the disk assembly(10) is rotated. A phase angle measuring unit(21) measures a phase angle from a predetermined reference point on the disk assembly(10) when the disk assembly(10) is rotated. An operation/control unit(23) calculates an eccentric mass and an eccentric position, using a deflected vibration volume detected in the displacement measuring unit(20) and the phase angle detected in the phase angle measuring unit(21). And a laser cutter(25) traces a side of the disk corresponding to the eccentric position based on information calculated in the operation/control unit(23), for laser cutting.
