PYRIMIDINE DERIVATIVES AND PROCESS FOR THE PREPARATION THEREOF

Novel pyrimidine derivatives represented by formula (I): (wherein R<1> represents a (in the group, R<3> represents a leaving group), a hydroxycarbamoyl group, or an amino group; and R<2> represents a group capable of converting into a formyl group), and a process for producing a compound represented by formula (II): (wherein R<4> represents a protective group of an amino group; and R<2> has the same meaning as described above) using the derivative. According to the invention, a compound represented by formula (II) useful as an intermediate for pharmaceuticals can be produced industrially and efficiently via a novel intermediate represented by formula (I).
