PURPOSE: A mask assembly for a CRT is provided to adjust an amount of the thermal expansion correction in the mask assembly by improving a spring holder structure. CONSTITUTION: A mask assembly for a CRT comprises a shadow mask(12), a mask frame(14), and a spring assembly(16). The shadow mask(12) forms many through holes and selects colors. The mask frame(14) includes a pair of supporting members arranged in opposite to the long side of the mask, and a pair of rigidity members for holding the supporting members with a constant interval. The spring assembly(16) includes a spring holder(16a) having a frame fixing unit and a spring fixing unit, and a spring(16b) in which one end side of the spring is fixed to the spring fixing unit and the other end side is fixed to the stud pin buried inside of the panel. The spring fixing unit is made of a bimetal, and the frame fixing unit is made of a single material.
