The vehicle anti-theft device is housed in a securable boxed enclosure in which are secured, separately, the spliced ends of the positive leads coming from the battery, and going to the starter and ignition mechanisms, thus completely isolating power supply to those systems. By means of a remote control mechanism, a switching device is activated that breaks/makes that connection, whilst arming or disarming the device. The device's circuitry is able to detect theft-attempt by 'hot-wiring', push starting, or using duplicate ignition key, or when the door or bonnet is illegally opened and deters theft by disconnecting the ignition mechanism, other power supply, and activating an audible/visual alarm. Constant power supply is provided, where required, to other accessories in the vehicle. The device provides manual override facility and safeguards against accidentally cutting-off power to the vehicle. |
