<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a two-piece solid golf ball which maintains a good ball hitting feel, is long in distance, is large in the spin quantity in an approach shot and has excellent controllability. SOLUTION: This two-piece solid golf ball consists of a core and a cover. The surface hardness by the Shore D hardness of this core is higher by 15 to 40 than the central hardness and the cover is formed of a composition for the cover containing, by 100 pts.wt. base material resin, (i) 10 to 80 pts.wt. ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid copolymer-base ionomer resin, (ii) 0 to 60 pts.wt. ethylene-(meth)acrylic acid-(meth)acrylate ternary polymer-base ionomer resin and (iii) 5 to 60 pts.wt. thermoplastic resin containing a styrene block. The Shore D hardness of the cover is 40 to 60 and is smaller by 1 to 20 than the surface hardness of the core.</p> |
