PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage to a needle and needle holders of a needle mounting tool and a sewing machine due to a hand movement during needle mounting work when mounting a needle to a holder by a device for mounting a needle to a needle holder provided at the tip of the needlebar of a sewing machine. SOLUTION: A support portion body A is formed at the tip of a shaft-shaped handle portion 6, the support portion body A is provided with a support through hole 4 into which the shaft portion 10b of a sewing needle 10 can be inserted, a needle support groove portion 1a supported by regulating the rotation direction of the tapered portion 10c of the shank portion 10a of the sewing needle 10 by passing into the support through hole 4, and a slit-shaped expansion slot 3 along the shaft direction of the needle support groove 1a is provided. The needle support groove 1a has a flat recess 1a1 having a flat surface corresponding to a flat surface 10d formed in the needle shank 10a of the sewing needle 10.
