PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling drum for twin-roll type continuous casting for stably casting a thin cast slab having good surface quality by forming fine ruggedness dimples on the surface of the cooing drum for twin-roll continuous casting. SOLUTION: This cooing drum for twin-roll type continuous casting apparatus and a casting method using this cooling drum, have the peculiarity, in which after forming the ruggedness dimples on the peripheral surface of the cooing drum for twin-roll type continuous casting apparatus, further fine ruggedness and fine projections are provided in the above dimple by blasting alumina grids having tens - hundredsμm size.
