PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an effective insect pest controlling agent for a septic tank capable of sustaining efficacies over a long period in controlling insect pests and small flies in the septic tank. SOLUTION: This insect pest controlling agent for the septic tank comprises an ester compound represented by formula (1) (wherein, R denotes methyl group or methoxymethyl group) as an active ingredient and supported on an organic high-molecular substance.
