PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an endoscope image free from uneven color despite the bias in the spectral sensitivity characteristic of an image sensor of a scope by using at least bicolor light emitting diodes as a light source unit in an image signal processing unit of the electronic endosope apparatus for a sufficient quantity of illuminating light. SOLUTION: The light source unit (30) comprises a group of bicolor light emitting diodes to obtain a sufficient quantity of illumination light, and drive current of the light emitting diodes in the groups thereof with respective colors is so set as to offset the bias in the spectral sensitivity characteristic of individual colors of the image sensor.
