PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a troublesome animal repellent available at a low cost, highly safe, applicable to a wide space, and capable of surly repelling dogs and cats. SOLUTION: This troublesome animal repellent can repel the animal including at least one kind of the dog and the cat, wherein the repellent comprises such a tobacco leaf-processed material that contains a material obtained from processing the tobacco leaves as an active ingredient and is sprayed over at least a major area of the space from which the troublesome animal should be repelled. The tobacco leaf-processed material preferably comprises (1) a waste tobacco generated from production processes of the tobacco or (2) a recovered tobacco comprising a leaf part which is recovered from a discarded cigarette stub. The tobacco leaf-processed material may comprise (4) a tobacco component-containing granular material or (5) a tobacco component-containing pasty material the both of which are obtained by adding (3) a solidifying material capable of solidifying the tobacco component to the waste tobacco (1) and/or the recovered tobacco (2). Further, the tobacco leaf-processed material may comprise (6) a tobacco component-containing solution which is obtained by dissolving the tobacco component contained in the waste tobacco (1) and/or the recovered tobacco (2) in water.
