PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a liquid discharge head having stable and highly reliable discharge characteristics by improving the durability of a movable member in a liquid discharge head with the movable member set opposite to a heating unit via a gap to the heating unit. SOLUTION: In forming the movable members 6 by forming a build-up film by the photolithography technique on an element substrate where a plurality of heating units are arranged side by side, the movable members 6 are dipped in an etching liquid after the movable members 6 are formed, thereby removing right angle parts, acute angle parts, flashes, etc., formed to edges of side parts of the movable members 6. Front faces of the side parts of the movable members 6 are made surfaces 11. When ink is discharged from discharge openings by displacing the movable members 6 by a pressure based on generation of bubbles by the heating units or when the movable members 6 are displaced excessively, even if a stress corresponding to an amount of the displacement of the movable members 6 is applied to the movable members 6, concentration of the stress at the side parts of the movable members 6 is eased, and therefore the movable members 6 are prevented from cracking or breaking.
