PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the production cost of graphite powder by enhancing the power efficiency necessary for producing the graphite powder. SOLUTION: This electric furnace for graphitization is provided with a transformation ratio variable transformer 3 for transforming the commercial power source freely by a desired transformation ratio, a step-down transformer 5A for stepping down the voltage of the secondary side of the transformer 3, a furnace main body 7 filled with carbon powder X so that the powder X can be fed gradually, a pair of heating electrodes 8A1, 8A2 which are disposed in the furnace body 7 in such an opposite state that the electrodes 8A1, 8A2 face to each other while the carbon powder X is interposed, and a control part 9 for controlling the transformation ratio of the transformer 3 so that the regulated electric current flows through the electrodes 8A1 and 8A2 for heating the powder X. |
